Newer methods use selective decarboxylation timing, isomerization, or molecular distillation to eliminate THC while preserving everything else. Therapeutic advantages over isolate: Broad-spectrum preserves the entourage effect through CBD-CBG-CBN-CBC interactions, terpene synergy with cannabinoids, and minor cannabinoid contributions to therapeutic outcomes; broad-spectrum products consistently outperform CBD isolate in clinical studies measuring anxiety, pain, sleep, and inflammation outcomes. Trade-offs vs full-spectrum: Without trace THC, certain effects diminish — CBD's anti-anxiety benefits are stronger when paired with even trace THC, and pain relief is meaningfully reduced without THC contribution; broad-spectrum cannot match true full-spectrum effectiveness for the most challenging chronic conditions.
