Diamonds

Diamonds (technically THCA diamonds) represent the highest possible THC concentration achievable in a cannabis concentrate, with pure crystalline structures containing 95-99.9% THCA — which converts to active THC during decarboxylation when smoked, vaped, or dabbed. The crystals form through a process called "diamond mining" or crystallization from saturated solution. Production: extract THC-rich concentrate using BHO, propane, or CO2 methods; the resulting extract is loaded into a sealed jar and held at moderate temperatures (75-85°F) under controlled pressure for 2-4 weeks; during this slow cure, THCA molecules crystallize out of the solution as the extract supersaturates, with crystals growing larger over time; the jar is occasionally "burped" to release pressure from terpene off-gassing; when crystallization is complete, the jar contains visible THCA diamond crystals (ranging from sub-millimeter to 5+ mm in size) suspended in a viscous terpene-rich liquid called "sauce." The two-component product is sold as "sauce and diamonds" or "diamond sauce" — the diamonds provide the cannabinoid content (95-99% THCA crystallizing to 87% THC after decarboxylation), while the sauce provides the terpene content (typically 20-40% terpenes by weight). Some producers also sell pure isolated diamonds without sauce, marketed as "THCA crystalline" or "THCA isolate" — these contain 99%+ pure THCA and produce extremely intense effects when consumed (though without the entourage effect of accompanying terpenes). THCA Federal legality loophole: pure THCA crystals are legally ambiguous in the US — they contain less than 0.3% delta-9 THC (the federal definition of marijuana) until they're heated and decarboxylated; this has created a gray-market THCA flower and concentrate industry selling federally-compliant high-potency cannabis that produces full THC effects when smoked. Multiple states have closed this loophole with laws regulating "total THC" rather than just delta-9 THC, but THCA products remain widely available in many states. Consumption: diamonds and sauce are dabbed together for the full entourage experience; pure diamonds are typically combined with terpenes before consumption. Effects are extremely intense due to the high cannabinoid concentration — even small dabs (rice-grain size) deliver 50-100mg of cannabinoids per inhalation.
