Linalool

Linalool is the terpene responsible for the distinctive lavender aroma in cannabis, present in approximately 25% of cannabis strains at meaningful concentrations. Linalool is also the dominant aromatic compound in lavender, basil, mint, coriander, and cinnamon, and has been used for thousands of years in traditional medicine for its calming and sedative effects. Pharmacology: linalool is one of the most pharmacologically active cannabis terpenes, with documented effects across multiple systems. Anti-anxiety activity comparable to diazepam in animal studies, working through GABA-A receptor enhancement. High-linalool strains are often described as the strongest "indica" effect even in technically sativa-classified varieties — the combination of linalool + myrcene + caryophyllene produces deeply relaxing body-heavy effects ideal for evening use, anxiety treatment, and sleep support. Linalool evaporates at 388°F, well-preserved at standard vaporization temperatures.
