How to trim a marijuana plant

1. Choose Trimming Style

- Wet Trimming: Trim immediately after harvest.
- Dry Trimming: Trim after drying whole plant (7–14 days).
2. Tools Needed

- Sharp trimming scissors
- Nitrile gloves
- Clean workspace
- Tray or bin for collecting trim
3. Initial Steps
- Cut down plant at base.
- Remove fan leaves (large leaves with no trichomes).
4. Trimming Process

- Hold bud by stem.
- Remove sugar leaves (small, frosty leaves close to buds).
- Cut close to bud surface without damaging it.
- Shape buds into tight, clean nuggets.
- Discard excess leaves or save for extracts/edibles.
5. Drying (if wet trimmed)
- Hang buds upside down.
- Environment: 60–70°F, 45–60% humidity.
- Dry for 7–14 days.
6. Curing
- Place dried buds in airtight jars.
- Burp jars (open for 10–15 min) daily for 2 weeks.
- Store in a cool, dark place.
