THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol): Causes short-term vasodilation, which can temporarily lower blood pressure, especially in new or infrequent users.
CBD (Cannabidiol): Has been shown in some studies to reduce resting blood pressure and stress-related spikes by modulating the endocannabinoid and nervous systems.
2. Scientific Evidence
A 2017 JCI Insight study showed 600 mg of oral CBD significantly lowered blood pressure in healthy adults, both at rest and during stress.
THC can initially drop blood pressure, but may later cause tachycardia (increased heart rate) or orthostatic hypotension (sudden drop upon standing).
Chronic use may diminish this hypotensive effect due to tolerance.
3. Method of Use
Inhalation: Rapid onset, short duration of action.
